Indian Red Cross Society is a voluntary humanitarian organization providing relief in times of disasters/emergencies and promotes health; and care of the vulnerable people and communities. It is a leading member of the largest independent humanitarian organization in the world.

The Indian Red Cross Society aims to inspire, encourage and initiate at all times, all forms of humanitarian activities so that human suffering can be minimized, alleviated and prevented; thus contributing to creating a more congenial climate for peace.

IRCS Paschim Medinipur District Branch has been running OPD services in General Medicine, Ophthalmology, Dentistry, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, Homoeopathy and Physiotherapy. Immunization programme is well known and very popular in the district; the latest vaccination of adults is the need of the day has been started. At our pathology laboratory different types of blood tests are being done at a cheaper cost. We also provide services like ligation surgery, speech therapy, ambulance service etc. A guest house named "RED CROSS ATITHI NIWAS" for needy communities is now inaugurated and open. Ophthalmic surgery will be started very soon. Website of IRCS-Paschim Medinipur District Branch will help Red Cross interested people to avail all information of the Institute. Red Cross canteen is a popular name in the town and surroundings for its delicious food at a cheap rate. Meeting halls in Red Cross premises help the community by providing space for any function, gathering at a subsidised rate.

Members are working collectively and sincerely as a team to uphold the fundamental values of the Red Cross: humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity and universality.

The organization remains committed to expand its programme and services to reach the unreached. Strengthening of disaster response and recovery programmes, enhancing of volunteer engagement, and expanding of partnership and collaborations to achieve mission are our primary motto.
